How Lobstr.io collects verified business emails from Google Maps?

We’ve received several queries asking how Lobstr.io collects emails when scraping Google Maps.

What is the source of emails?

This is a common question, and it’s a good one.

Google Maps listings don’t directly show email addresses, so it’s not immediately obvious how email collection works.

Here's a full explanation of how it works, and what to expect when using this feature.

How does Lobstr.io collects emails from Google Maps?

Lobstr.io collects email addresses by visiting the websites listed on Google Maps business profiles.

To collect emails while scraping Google Maps, you need to turn ON the Extract Emails from Website option in your Squid settings.

Turn on email collection

When this option is enabled, Lobstr.io will:

  1. Check if a business listing on Google Maps includes a website link.
  2. Visit the listed website.
  3. Look for email addresses in common sections like the footer or the Contact page.

If it finds any, it will automatically add them to your results.

How to verify emails collected from Google Maps?

After you’ve scraped listings and collected emails, you can run a validation check to see which addresses are valid.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Runs tab below the Live results console.
  2. Locate the run you just completed.
  3. Click the Verify button next to that run.

Wait a few moments while Lobstr.io’s email validation process completes. Once done, download the results file to see valid emails.

How accurate is this verification feature?

Lobstr.io uses its own email validation system on the backend.

Our system is up to 97% accurate. That means only a 3% chance of bounce for emails marked valid.

It also tests catch‑all domains that accept mail for any address. Most services label these as “catch‑all” or “unknown.” Lobstr.io runs an advanced algorithm on those addresses too.

It accurately verifies up to 80% of catch‑all emails and marks each one as valid or invalid.

You can see the email's validation status in Email Status column next to your email.

Learn more about email validation statuses here.

How much does it cost to verify emails?

  • 100 credits per email address if the result is valid or unknown
  • 0 credits if the result is invalid
  • All emails and their validation status appear in your downloaded file

Why didn’t I get any email addresses?

If you didn’t see any emails in your results, here are a few possible reasons:

  • The Extract Emails from Website option was not turned on.
  • The business listing didn’t include a website.
  • The listed website didn’t have any visible email addresses.

Also, even though Google Maps Search Export collects social media links (like Facebook or Instagram), the scraper does not visit those pages to look for emails.

You can use Facebook Page Details Export to collect emails.

How to collect emails from Facebook pages of local businesses?

To collect email addresses from Facebook Pages, you can use our Facebook Page Details Export crawler.

Here's how:

Collect missing Google business listings emails from Facebook

  1. Copy the Facebook Page URLs from your Google Maps Scraper results.
  2. Paste them into the Facebook Page Details Export tool.
  3. Launch the scraper.

It will collect email addresses (if available in the page’s About section), along with other relevant business data.
